Quality Scales Unlimited is a family business driven by three traditional values; team cooperation, lifelong learning and delivering a superior product. Family members are actively involved in daily operations and work alongside the staff of 25. QSU works diligently to exceed customer expectations on all service calls and products we sell. The scale business is a precision industry based on accuracy and we try to employ this value in everything we do.
President and General Manager
Rory Ward, with a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Davis, and more than 25 years owning and operating businesses, purchased Scales Unlimited in 2008 and Quality Scale in 2010. Rory merged the two businesses and their staff to form Quality Scales Unlimited.
Rory’s entrepreneurial personality led him to a lifelong career of business ownership. His experience includes 10 years of owning and operating retail ice cream shops and 17 years of acting as general manager and chief financial officer for the family’s garment manufacturing company. Rory thrives on learning and chose scales and weighing systems as his next business challenge. The business utilizes both his engineering education and operations expertise.
Rory acts as the company’s general manager and chief financial officer and he continually seeks ways to strengthen and improve the operations of Quality Scales Unlimited. He is committed to developing QSU into the most customer focused, cohesive, and driven team in the scale industry.
Courtney, a recent Ivy grad, with 5 years scale industry experience wears many hats at Quality Scales Unlimited. Overseeing the service department is her primary job, but, much of her time is spent monitoring existing processes, analyzing their effectiveness and creating new processes to improve our service and productivity. Her multi-tasking personality makes her a great operations manager.
Troy Briggs, Roger Kohl & Adam Untch
Service Management Team
Our service management team is the heart and soul of Quality Scales Unlimited. Their days are spent matching our technician skills and knowledge with our customer’s field service requirements. In addition they are challenged daily with answering customer trouble calls, scheduling jobs and interfacing with regulatory agencies. Adam and Roger divide the California territory, interfacing accordingly with customers in the North and South of the state. With over 20 years in the scales business, Troy acts as project manager for the service team. Roger has over 20 years of experience in field service management and Adam is our newest field service manager moving up from service department administrative assistant.
