Napa Wine Company has a new Rice Lake OTR truck scale installed in 2013! Napa Wine Company was in need of a new electronic truck scale to replace their failing concrete deck mechanical truck scale. With assistance from Rice Lake Weighing Systems, Quality Scales Unlimited provided a custom solution which met and exceeded their expectations. The truck scale replacement project involved demolishing the existing concrete deck and removing the scale’s mechanical lever system. Concrete modifications were made to the existing pit foundation to accommodate the new truck scale. In an effort to reduce disruption time at their facility, two technicians installed the 70’ x 10’ scale in only a day. Take note of the scale’s custom tan paint color developed by Rice Lake Weighing Systems to help blend the scale into the surrounding facility scenery. Since the scale is highly visible to customers during tours and wine tastings, the special color was a critical element of the project’s success.
