Five of Quality Scales Unlimited’s technicians spent a sweet Easter at C & H Sugar in Crockett repairing and greasing their rail scale used to weigh boxcars containing sugar product in route to food industry customers.  To limit lost transport time during normal business days, our technicians worked four consecutive days including Easter Sunday to complete the job.  Our technicians removed rust, repaired and realigned the scale chairs as well as epoxy patched the failing deck and greased the rail scale.  The senior tech, Jeff, lead his team efficiently through the project which required extra safety precautions due the complicated rail scale configuration and the large size of the scale components.

The C & H Sugar plant refines raw cane sugar unloaded from cargo ships from the Hawaiian Islands.  C & H has been refining raw sugar since 1906 and currently processes over 700 thousand tons of cane sugar annually.  The processed products leave the plant in insulated boxcars via rail in sacks or as molasses or sugar slurry and are delivered around the US to a variety of food industries.
